Welcome & Opening:
Aloha ka kou (greetings). It is an honor and privilege to be with you all on this special day of joy and love. We welcome you both, CC and Stella, to this moment in your lives and to the places you’ve found in each other’s hearts. For it is out of this love you have for each other that you have come together on the island of Kauai to be joined in marriage. May we take a moment to acknowledge the beauty that surrounds us, the sweet breezes, the sounds of nature and to feel the harmony and perfection of this moment. We are all part of one, and we call upon the aloha that is ever-present to bless this special day. I congratulate you on the journey of your lives, and on the strength and courage it has taken for each of you to make your way to this place. We are gathered here today in this island paradise to join you, CC and Stella as you commit your lives to each other as friends, companions and trusted soulmates. Marriage symbolizes the intimate sharing of your lives, whereby this sharing will not diminish, but rather enhance the beautiful individuality of each of you. Through this intimacy, you will learn that unconditional love is the key to supporting and nurturing each other’s individual growth.
Lei Exchange In Hawaii, we exchange leis as a symbol of our mutual respect. The beautifully crafted lei with all of its hand picked flowers, leaves and twine, carefully bonded together, is a reflection of the love you share with one another. As you exchange these leis, you will begin to weave your lives together throughout eternity. CC, present your lei to Stella Stella, present your lei to CC
Blessing in Hawaiian No ka mea, ua aloha nui mai Akua I ko ke ao nei, no laila, ua ha’awi mai o’ia I kana keiki hiwa hiwa, I o’le e make ka mea mana o’io ia, ia, aka, e loa’a ia ke ola mau loa. Amene.
Reading CC and Stella, you have chosen each other from all other people of this earth. Today you both come declaring your love and your desire to live united as husband and wife. This ceremony that you both share is symbolic of the total love you feel and wish to continue building upon as you integrate physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. It is a sacred moment in life when two people, who were once strangers to each other, are drawn together in love. CC and Stella, you are linking your lives in the closest possible relationship with that of another human soul. Share your hearts in times of joy as well as in times of trouble. Talk and really listen to each other for there will be many challenges to your patience and wisdom, but through your love for each other, all challenges will be overcome. Today, as you join your lives together, keep your own memories, dreams and goals. Hold onto that sacred essence that is within each of you, for the singular person is the one you’ve each grown to love. So treasure the wonderful, unique person that your mate is, provide wings to your loved one for each other’s sake. It is through the support and belief in each other that each of you will be the best that you can be and each of you will bring to this marriage the glory that is you. Always communicate your truest of hopes, thoughts, feelings and dreams that your relationship may be strengthened by peace, and give your attention, affection and support to each other, that you may together express all of the creativity that you are. Know that you are God’s gifts to one another and cherish this truth always.
Vows May I ask that each of you now repeat the vows of marriage?
* Vows in Chinese are exchanged.
Wedding Rings As long as time can be remembered, the ring has been symbolic of the completed bond. The ring is without beginning and without end. The ring goes on forever. Circles of life, circles of love, the continuity of life, the connection from the heart which you share with one another and the commitment you are making to enjoin your life’s path in equality and in love. Let these unbroken bands represent the unbroken circle of your life. Let the hardness of the metal represent the strength in which each of you will use to uphold your union. May you each wear these rings as a constant reminder of the beauty and sincerity of the vows you have just taken. These rings are given and received as tokens of never-ending Aloha.
Blessing of Rings Hawaiian: Hiki ka haku ho’omaika’i ke’ia, mau komo ke’ la oe hau’oli, mehe kou ho’ ailona, o aloha a la ahia. Amene.
Exchange of Rings While placing the ring on Stella's finger, please repeat after me: Stella, this ring is my sacred gift to you. A symbol of my love. A sign that from this day forward my love will always surround you. With this ring I give you my heart. I have no greater gift to give. I feel both honored and blessed to be your husband and to have you as my wife. With this ring, I thee wed. CC, this ring is my sacred gift to you. A symbol of my love. A sign that from this day forward my love will always surround you. With this ring I give you my heart. I have no greater gift to give. I feel both honored and blessed to be your husband and to have you as my wife. With this ring, I thee wed.
And so, by the power vested in me by the laws of the State of Hawaii, I now pronounce you, CC and Stella, husband and wife. You may now seal your vows with a kiss. And now, in the truest spirit of Aloha, May the love, peace and sincerity of this moment be with you all now, and remain in your hearts forevermore. Amene
